Power Distribution Companies get Rs 225 plus crore revenue
Temporary electricity connections have been provided to 56531 farmers for running irrigation pumps and thrashers till January in the current financial year 2009-10 in Madhya Pradesh. Through these temporary connections Madhya Pradesh Eastern, Central and Western Region Power Distribution Companies have received RS 225.15 crore revenue.
It may be mentioned here that in the same period during the last fiscal 41768 farmers were provided temporary connections which means that this year 14763 more farmers have been given temporary connections and the power distribution companies earned Rs 82.90 crore more revenue.The Madhya Pradesh Eastern Region Power Distribution Company provided 2 lakh 88 thousand 704 temporary connections to farmers during the year till the month of January. Out of these, 2 lakh 78 thousand 66 temporary connections were given for irrigation pumps and 10 thousand 638 for running thrashers. The company earned revenue to the tune of Rs 57 crore 65 lakh 24 thousand by providing these temporary connections.
During the same period, the Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company provided 1 lakh 44 thousand 755 temporary connections to farmers during the year till the month of January. Out of these, 1 lakh 42 thousand 854 temporary connections were given for irrigation pumps and 10 thousand 638 for running thrashers. The company earned revenue to the tune of Rs 51 crore 54 lakh 24 thousand by providing these temporary connections.
Similarly, the Madhya Pradesh Western Region Power Distribution Company provided 3 lakh 72 thousand temporary connections to farmers during the year till the month of January. Out of these, 3 lakh 16 thousand 790 temporary connections were given for irrigation pumps and 6 thousand 282 for running thrashers. The company earned revenue to the tune of Rs 115 crore 88 lakh 67 thousand by providing these temporary connections.
