National Award for most talented daughter : Sharma

Bhopal:Monday, July 13, 2009:Updated 17:55IST Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma has said that a Rs 2 lakh National Award will be instituted for honouring the most talented daughter of Madhya Pradesh. Process to determine the age, area of work and other qualifications will be set in motion soon. Efforts will be undertaken to give away this award in the current financial year itself. Shri Sharma was addressing a function held here today to honour talented daughters of Bhopal on the occasion of Daughters' Day.
The Public Relations Minister said that daughters of Madhya Pradesh have earned world encomiums. It is the responsibility of us all to honour and promote them. He said that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given top priority to daughters' welfare. He enumerated such welfare schemes as Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Gaon Ki Beti Yojana and 50 percent reservation to women in the local bodies.
The talented daughters of Bhopal who were honoured at the function included journalists Sushri Jyotsna Pant, Sravani Sarkar, Preeti Sharma, Sneha Khare, Shefali Pandey, Sushri Jyoti Agrawal who is associated with cultural activities, social worker Smt. Seema Raizada, film personality Divyanka Tripathi, environmentallist Khushi Sharma, radio broadcasters Sushri Geet and Smt. Jaya Arya, Dr. Puja Yadav in the field of medicine, Dr. Uzma Jamali in the field of education and Sushri Monal Singh in the field of health. The function was organised by Public Relations Council of India and MetroMirror.com. Mother of Sushri Divyanka Tripathi received the award on her behalf.
