MP worlds favourite state for investment: CM

Production begins in Chinese company

Bhopal:Wednesday, July 8, 2009:Updated 18:20IST The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is a favourite state the world over from the point of view of investments. In the series, Chinese company LiuGong is going to invest Rs 500 crore in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was inaugurating a factory set up by this companay at a cost of Rs 175-crore at Pithampur today.
With this, production of heavy equipment has commenced in this factory. This is first Chinese investment in the State. Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya and Union Minister of State for Heavy Industry Shri Arun Yadav were specially present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan further said that this factory has opened a new chapter in Sino-Indian relations. Both these countries can work unitedly to develop the world further. Both India and China are great ancient countries with important contributions to world's culture and civilization.
The Chief Minister said
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan described India and China as two great countries on the occasion of inauguration of the factory set up by LiuGong company, the first investment of China. He said that both India and China are great ancient countries. Chinese travellers used to visit in ancient times when India had such centres of knowledge as Takshshila and Nalanda and now both the countries are on the verge of becoming super-powers. He expressed pleasure China's government-run LiuGong company has commenced production in its Madhya Pradesh Unit.
The Chief Minister said that this company had singed an MoU on October 27, 2007 at the Global Investors Meet at Indore. Land was allocated to the company on April 24, 2008 and within one year this company has commenced production. This is a vivid example of working for development with a rapid pace. He said that Madhya Pradesh's industrial policy is investor-friendly. The government is ready to improve it further, if need be. He said that Madhya Pradesh is always ready for investments at a rapid pace.

CM invited to visit China
One-to-one talk was made with Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and Commerce & Industry Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya by chairman of LiuGong group Shri Zend Guang'an. Shri Guang'an expressed his gratitude over facilities provided by the Madhya Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also praised the Chinese company for starting production within only ten months. Shri Zuang'an and Mayor of Chinese city Liolizi Zend Ju Kang cordially invited Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and Industry Minister Shri Vijayvargiya to visit China.
State's Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that it is the fourth industrial unit which has commenced production after the Global Investors' Meet. This is the beginning of rapid industrialisation of the state. He informed that today itself a Japanese delegation has called on Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and told him that they are going to invest Rs 265 crore for extension of Bridgestone Company.
The Madhya Pradesh government will extend all possbile help for increasing capital investment and employment opportunities. The Chinese investors have evinced keen interest in food procesing and infrastructure-related works. The state government is committed to creating better industrial environment.
Union Minister of State congratulates Madhya Pradesh
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industry Shri Arun Yadav congratulated Madhya Pradesh for eliciting this investment. He said that the Central Government is trying to set up such industries which can provide employment to youths.
Those present on the occasion included chairman of LiuGong group Shri Zeng Guang'an and other officers of the company, Mayor of Chinese city Shri Zeng Jun Kang, managing director of TRIFA Shri Praveen Garg and managing director of AKVN Indore Srhi Neeraj Mandloi. This factory has been set up with 100 percent foreign investment. Here heavy machinery and vehicles will be manufactured.
