Death sentence to Kasab justified

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has described as justified the death sentence pronounced against Kasab by the court. Kasab is the accused of 26/11 terrorist attack on Mumbai. Shri Chouhan said that speedy trial and now this decision will increase trust in the judicial system.

In his reacton, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the 26/11 terrorist attack on Mumbai was not a mere attack on some parts of a metropolitan city but was a heinous outrage against the entire nation, its integrity and sovereignty, peace, principle of co-existence and Indian ethos. He said that Kasab and plotters of this attack as well as other conspirators should also be brought out from the protection of Pakistan through diplomatic efforts and should be punished for their crimes.

Shri Chouhan has hoped that higher courts will also maintain the death sentence pronounced to Kasab by higher courts as well. Shri Chouhan said that courts do discharge their duties well, but it is unfortunate that death sentence to Afzal, an accused of attack on Parliament, is yet to be executed
