Health Minister chairs meeting of Rajya Beemari Sahayata Nidhi
The cancer wings of all the medical colleges will be upgraded and strengthened with a view to ensuring effective treatment of this dreaded disease. This decision was taken at a meeting of Rajya Beemari Sahayata Nidhi, which was chaired by Minister for Public Health & Family Welfare, Health Education & AYUSH, Biodiversity & Biotechnology Shri Anup Mishra.
At the meeting, Rs 12 crore was sanctioned for the treatment of 1169 patients. Those present at the meeting included Minister of State for Public Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education, Technical Education and Training Shri Mahendra Hardia, committee's member and MLA Shri Girija Shankar Sharma, Shri Hitendra Singh Solanki, Dr. Gurudas Tiwari, Shri Naval Prajapati, Secretary Health Shri SR Mohanty and Commissioner Health Shri Manohar Agnani.Public Health Minister Shri Anup Mishra instructed for making the Fund more effective and cover more ailments under it. He said that the government wishes to provide free treatment to the poor and is committed to this cause. Shri Mishra instructed to strengthen and upgrade the cancer wings of all the medical colleges for this purpose. He said that in view of large number of cancer patients, it is necessary that proper arrangements are ensured in the government hospitals for their treatment. The Health Minister instructed to make available chemotherapy, linear accelerator, mammography and all other equipment, which are necessary for cancer treatment, at the hospitals.
He also instructed for improving dialysis system. He said that the meeting of Beemar Sahayata Nidhi should be convened every third month.
