Removing discrimination against AIDS/HIV affected people

 Workshop held on AIDS prevention
The Madhya Pradesh State AIDS Control Committee organised a two-day workshop for representatives of Industry Department on the prevention of AIDS. The workshop was divided into seven segments.
Committee's consultant Sushri Suneela Sharma made a presentation on AIDS prevention and taking care of AIDS patients and detailed discussions were held on it with the participants.

The labourers working under the Industry Department generally lack knowledge about AIDS. HIV/AIDS can be controlled to a large extent by creating awareness among them. The participants were given copious information about AIDS and TB by holding discussions on this subject.

Later, Dr. Rachna Dubey made a presentation on the topic 'removing hesitance about disclosing venereal diseases, risk factor and sex issues in Industry Department', which was followed by group discussion. Dr. HS Patel delivered a lecture on 'removing discrimination against AIDS/HIV affected people. Sushri Razi Faraz Khan gave information about health education and ways to talk easily about secret diseases.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Committee consultant Sushri Sharma Raja proposed a vote of thanks. The participants were given IEC material, copies of National Labour Policy and material about training module. Some participants volunteered to work on AIDS/HIV awareness in the society.
