Golden MP’s main targets to be achieved by 2013

The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the main targets of the resolutions of the Golden Madhya Pradesh have to be completed by the year 2013 by all means. The practical suggestions which will be received to achieve the objective of these resolutions, will be the basis of the next budget of the state, Shri Chouhan added.
He said that making a Team Madhya Pradesh is also one of the important objectives of the Manthan-2009. The proposed Team Madhya Pradesh will focus on development of the state besides ushering in prosperity in the life of the common people. Shri Chouhan was inaugurating a two-day workshop “Manthan-2009” (brainstorming exercise) at the Academy of Administration here today.
Besides the members of the council of ministers, about 200 officers including principal secretaries, secretaries, heads of department, divisional commissioners, district collectors and chief executive officers of the district panchayats are participating in this workshop.
The Chief Minister, Shri Chouhan said that this workshop has been organised with a view tobringing about necessary changes in the government machinery and to fixing practical priorities so as to facilitate speedy development of the state and to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach out to the common people without any delay.
Elaborating on the concept of Golden Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Swarnim Madhya Pradesh is not merely a slogan but a dream of the masses of the state and the government as well. He said that the state government have constituted special work groups comprising experts to achieve the targets of seven priorities fixed by it so as to achieve the prime objective of Golden Madhya Pradesh. He mentioned that the state’s budget for the year 2010-11 would be finalized on the basis of outcome of the exchange of thoughts of the work groups and conclusions of the workshop.
The Chief Minister further said that the Manthan-2009 has been focused on making practical recommendations on seven priorities fixed for building Swarnim Madhya Pradesh. He observed that the ministers and officers taking part in the Manthan are well aware of the ground realities and they should give practical recommendations in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the state.
Shri Chouhan said that noteworthy work has been done in the sector of infrastructure development in the state over the last five and a half years. Further, there has been a near revolution in road construction, he added.
He said that now focus should be on rural roads. Shri Chouhan said that government has set a target to supply adequate electricity by the year 2013. Besides, measures have to be found out to save electricity in the state. He also laid emphasis on exploring new possibilities for utilization of available water besides putting the installed capacity of irrigation to the optimum use.
Shri Chouhan said that the present percentage of mother-infant mortality rate is not a good sign for the state. He also stressed on improvement in the quality of education.Shri Chouhan said that the jail is the right place for criminals. It is our collective responsibility to create a fear psychosis among the criminals towards the government. He said that it was imminent to liquidate all kinds of mafias operating in the state so as to maintain law and order.
Referring to the good governance, Shri Chouhan said that it was one of the important priorities of the government. Under this, steps are being taken to ensure that the development works are carried out on time maintaining the quality, procedures are simplified and above all the benefits of government schemes reach out to the common people without any delay.
In his address, the Chief Minister also referred to the other prime priorities of the government. These include making agriculture a profitable occupation. In this context, he referred to the steps being initiated by the state government.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary, Shri Rakesh Sahni threw light on the objectives and outline of the Manthan-2009. He desired that the officers participating in the Manthan should make such recommendations which are practical and whose target is all-round development and which are broad based. He also informed about the follow up action on the recommendations of the Manthan-2009. Shri Sahni also wished that this endeavour to give a new direction and pace to the government would be successful.
Earlier, on his arrival at the Academy of Administration, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was welcomed by the Director General, Dr. Sandeep Khanna presenting the former a bouquet.
