Twenty one districts register normal Rainfall

Bhopal:Friday, September 11, 2009:Updated 19:10IST Good rainfall has been registered in almost every part of the state during past three days. Consequently, number of districts receiving normal rainfall has shifted from ten to 21 districts. Due to heavy downpour people of Hosangabad. Sagar, Damoh, Raisen, Harda, Narsinhpur, Vidisha, Jabalpur and few other districts were shifted to relief camps.
As many as 3337 people were shifted to such 35 relief camps. Recent rainfall has affected about 15 thousand 800 people of the state. Five persons who were trapped in flood water at Jhangri village of Sagar district have ben rescued with the help of army.
Hoshangabad
Relief camps have been started in Hoshangabad, Pipariya and Sohagpur where low lying areas have been flooded due to back water augmentation. About 1500 people have taken shelter in four relief camps at Pipariya, 250 persons in two relief camps at Sohagpur and 325 persons in three relief camps at Hoshangabad. All precautionary measures are being adopted as Narmada river is still flowing above the danger mark.
Sagar
The low lying area in Devri and Rahli villages flooded with water and 60 persons in Devri shifted to one camp while 250 affected persons accommodated in two camps set up at Rahli. Moreover, five persons who were trapped by flood water near a temple at Jhangri village have been rescued safely with the help of army.
Damoh
The district witnessed abundant rainfall during last couple of days. The local administration took all precautionary measures for villages prone to flood situation. No damage has been reported from the district.
Raisen
Excessive rains caused shifting of 700 people of the villages to safer places. Now, as the rain ceases people are returning to their home.
Harda
People of Handia village were shifted to safer areas are also now returning to their native places.
Narsinghpur
Heavy rains have affected the life in Narsinghpur. People have been shifted to four relief camps. Concerning sarpanchas of village panchayats have been asked to make adequate arrangement for stay and meal for affected persons.
Vidisha
As the rain stops, life is returning to normalcy here. No damage has been reported here.
Jabalpur
Having witnessed excessive rains normalcy has been returned here. About 650 affected persons were shifted to six relief camps at Jabalpur and Panagar on September 8 and 9. Now, the people are turning to their home.
