Bizzare Justice

The directions by the Supreme Court to the UP government to stop all construction activity of statues and memorials has been reported by all the major newspapers in their lead stories today. "This time, Maya stops the Men and Machines", headlines the Indian Express while the Pioneer's lead story reads, "Stop defying us now, apex court tells Maya".
The acquittal of Maninder Singh Pandher in the horrific Nithari killings and the death sentence for his servant Surinder Koli has been termed "Bizzare Justice", by the Pioneer, while the Hindustan Times remarks, "Pandher off the hook in one Nithari Case".
"Women Power flows from the barrel of the gun", this is the caption in the Hindustan Times for a photograph for the first batch of 178 women Border Security Force Constables patrolling the Indo-Pak border in combat fatigues. The Asian Age, the Indian Express and the Statesman have also carried the photographs on their front page.
The Hindu reports in its lead story about a statement made by the Home Minister P. Chidambaram at Washington that "Security threats from Pakistan have not lessened". In a related story the Pioneer reports that over 300 Jihadis are waiting to cross the LoC and infiltrate into Jammu and kashmir before snow blocks the ingress routes in October.
The Hindustan Times reports that the Ministry of Home Affairs is mulling over placing advertisements in Pakistan newspapers so that families of Pakistani men in Indian jails on terror charges can identify them.

Finally, Vijender Singh has become the first Indian boxer to sign a multi crore deal with the sports management farm, reports the Hindustan Times.
