Schools to be upgraded in Tribal areas

New faculties in higher secondary schools
Bhopal:Tuesday, August 25, 2009:Updated 21:55IST The schools being conducted in tribal areas would be upgraded to improve the facilities there. This was decided at the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
Accordingly, 50 middle schools would be upgraded to high school and 20 high schools to higher secondary schools. Besides, additional faculties were sanctioned for 20 higher secondary schools.
For the purpose of upgrading 20 high schools to higher secondary schools additional posts of 20 principals, 80 contract school teacher grade one, 40 contract school teacher grade three9science) 20 posts of accountant and 20 posts of peon were sanctioned.
Similarly, for converting 50 middle schools to high schools, 30 posts of principal, 150 posts of contract school teacher grade two, 50 posts of contract school teacher grade three (science), 50 posts of Lower Division Clerk and 50 posts of peon would be created.
Besides, for adding additional faculties in 20 higher secondary schools 20 posts of contract schoolteacher grade one would be created. All this would entail an expenditure of Rs. 2 crore 86 lakh.
The cabinet made it clear that except principals and accountants, all the posts would be filled up by concerning zila or janpad panchayats.
