Shri O.P. Rawat review Narmada Valley Development activities
Bhopal:Thursday, August 6, 2009:Updated 19:30IST The New Vice Chairman of NVDA Shri O.P. Rawat in his first meeting with authority officials has said that along with physical progress of various projects the actual benefits reaching to the people out of these projects should also be monitored regularly.Providing benefits to the people of the valley is the ultimate object of all developmental activities and both must be well coordinated. Shri Rawat discussed the various activities carried out by Narmada Valley Development Authority and asked to prepare forward plans for proposed activities.
He apprised himself about the irrigation and power potential generated by the various Narmada Valley projects and take a stock of present status of the ongoing projects in the valley. He said that holistic approach for the development of the valley must encompass each and every activities at equal importance like fisheries, Agriculture productions , water transportation command and catchment area development , livelihood etc.
He also emphasise the need to asses the ground water conditions of Narmada Basin, by aquifer mapping of the Basin . The Member finance Shri Ramesh Chandra, Member power M.K. Jain, Member Engg. Batham , C.C. F. Forest L.K. Shood. Secretary NVDA M.M. Khera and other officers were present on the occasion.
