Bhopal:Tuesday, July 21, 2009:Updated 18:02IST Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan released 'Bundelkhand ki roopankar kalaein', published by Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department, at Vidhan Sabha chamber here today. Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma was specially present on the occasion. The book has been penned by Dr. Veena Chaubey.Spread on 250 pages, the book throws light in detail on Bundelkhand's cultural heritage, especially wall paintings, wood carvings, metal art, Ghadva art, Mrad Bhand Kala, rites & festivals and geographical background of Bundelkhand. The book is divided into seven chapters. Apart from Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Panna, Sagar and Datia in Madhya Pradesh, the book also highlights folk arts of Jhansi, Lalitpur and Banda districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Praising the publication, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan congratulated the writer. Those present on the occasion of book's release included Secretary Culture & Public Relations Shri Manoj Shrivastava, painter Shri Laxminarayan Bhavsar, Dr. Rashmi Joshi, Shri RK Sharma, Shri RK Saxena, Shri Ved Prakash Nagaich, Shri OP Mishra, Shri VS Chaubey and others. The books has been printed by Madhya Pradesh Madhyam.
