Expresses displeasures over slow progress of scheme
District officers to undertake field tours

Minister of State Shri Khatik pulled up officers for slow progress of Deendayal Market Development Scheme, which has been launched to ensure self-employment to people belonging to schedule castes. The state government takes 50 per cent shares by way of subsidy in a shop worth Rs 50 thousand under the scheme.

During a minute review, the minister found that no worthwhile work has been undertaken under this scheme over the last many years and only a handful of beneficiaries have been extended assistance. Shri Khatik warned the district officers and asked them to undertake field tours with a view to getting the scheme implemented properly. He will himself review its progress on weekly basis and thus indifferent officers will not be spared.
