Atal child health and nutrition mission from October 2

 Atal Bal Mitra Award for their excellent performance every year.
Atal Child Health and Nutrition Mission will be launched from October 2, 2010 in the state to combat malnourishment.A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
It was informed that the draft of the Mission is available on the official website of women and child development department for seeking suggestions from people. A workshop would be held by end of this month at Bhopal in which representatives of different states and experts would participate to finalise the draft and take decision about the menu for the Anganwadi children.

State level and district level committees would be set up for management of the Mission activities and functions. The State Government has provided Rs. One crore initially to launch the Mission. All activities dedicated to addressing malnourishment would be brought under the mission.

If needed, spending on nutritious food would be increased for the severely malnourished children. The Anganwadi workers and assistants and district level officers would be felicitated with Atal Bal Mitra Award for their excellent performance every year.

Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Ranjana Baghel, Minister of State for Health Shri Mahendra Hardia, Chief Secretary Shri Avani Vaish, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Smt. Lavleen Kakkad, Secretary Health Shri S. R. Mohanti, Secretary to C.M. Shri Anurag Jain and senior officers were present.
