Media's negative aspects should be countered by presenting facts

The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the public relations officers to highlight the positive impact of State Government's welfare initiatives. He instructed them to be in touch with the representatives of mass media.

He said that the negative aspects should be countered by presenting facts so that people know the truth. He was reviewing the activities of Department of Public Relations here today.

Minister for Public Relations Shri Laxmikant Sharma, Secretary and Commissioner Public Relations Shri Rakesh Shrivastava and senior officers were present.

The Chief Minister approved the proposals for accident insurance scheme and health insurance scheme for the media persons. These proposed schemes would soon be finalized after consulting the concerning departments.

The Chief Minister said that press tours be organized to update media persons about the performance of development schemes, programmes and their impact.

The Chief Minister suggested that the department of public relations can organize symposia and seminars on government's schemes and programmes in order to promote intellectual discussions. He stressed the need for training to the public relations officers to keep pace with fast advancing media and its requirements. Stressing the need for further improvement in Madhya Pradesh Sandesh he said that quality content should be presented.
