Your Bank at Your Doorstep Scheme
Apex Bank has launched a scheme Apki Bank Apke Dwar Yojana (Your Bank at Your Doorstep) for strengthening cooperative banks and movement. The campaign has yielded good results. Apex Bank chairman Shri Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat informed that more than 2500 camps were organised in the state in which 81 thousand small and marginal farmers were made members of cooperative societies.Shri Shekhawat informed that Your Bank at Your Doorstep is a novel scheme, which was launched on October 7. Under this scheme, problems of a farmer are solved on the spot. Credit camps were organised under the scheme where 28 thousand farmers were provided loans for undertaking agricultural works and passbooks of Kisan Credit Cards were distributed among 78 thousand farmers. Credit limits to the tune of Rs 19 lakh 988 were sanctioned during the camps and credit card passbooks of more than 87 thousand farmers were tallied.
Shri Shekhawat informed that during the camps shot term loans to the tune of Rs 19 crore 44 lakh and medium term loans up to Rs 36 lakh 51 thousand were distributed and over 34 thousand permits were issued for fertilisers. Loans to the tune of Rs 4 crore 12 lakh were also recovered from farmers. During the camps, 22500 new bank accounts were opened in which Rs 14 crore 97 lakh was deposited. Share capital to the tune of Rs 198 lakh was received from the new members.
Shri Shekhawat informed that as many as 1500 complaints were received during the camps out of which 1400 complaints were disposed of on the spot. More than 61 thousand farmers, who had transacted regular business during the last three years were honoured. As many as 1798 members were registered for non-agricultural loans.
Shri Shekhawat has exhorted Apex Bank officials to connect maximum number of farmers with cooperative movement through such innovative schemes.
