"Rahul derails Sena in Mumbai"

The visit by Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to Mumbai has hogged the headlines of almost all the major news dailies today.  "Rahul hops on to Mumbai local, derails Thackreys" headlines the Times of India, while the Statesman says "Rahul derails Sena in Mumbai".  The Indian Express notes "Rahul takes the Dadar fast to make his Mumbai point".The plunge of the sensex by 434 points yesterday, in response to the plummeting Stock markets of the world has the Economic Times reporting "Markets plunge as global scare sends FIIs on sales spree".  The Business Line reports "Sensex falls to three month low on US job data" whereas the business standard notes "India feels the tremors from global markets".

The Hindustan Times in its lead story reports that during President Barak Obama's Presidential campaign in 2008, his Finance Committee refused to accept any contribution from controversial hotelier Sant Singh Chhatwal because of the latter's 'Background and Baggage'.

In its main story the Pioneer reports "Pakistan remains belligerent".

Highlighting the Prime Minister's address at the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit yesterday, the Hindu notes "Manmohan: Need for bold emission cuts" and that "India will negotiate in a spirit of flexibility".

In another story the Hindu reports that the Medical Council of India has claimed that there is a broad consensus on its proposal to created a dedicated cadre of rural health care workers.

The sacking of John Terry, the captain of the England Football team by the head coach Fabio Capello, after his alleged extramarital affairs, has been reported on the main page by the Times of India and the Hindustan Times.

And finally, the Times of India reports that in a ground breaking operation British surgeons claims to have transplanted an "Incompatible" donor kidney in a female patient after freezing and filtering her blood plasma to ensure the new organ wasn't rejected.
