The 48th State level Teachers Award function at Ravindra Bhavan felicitated thirteen teachers with National Award 2008 and eleven with State level Award 2009. Presenting the awards, the Governor, Shri Rameshwar Thakur said that proper guidance by teachers might groom worthy citizens.
The teachers should streamline the methods of education and studies in the context of changing times and requirements. The Minister for Education, Smt. Archana Chitnis presided over the function.
Paying tributes to Dr. Sarva Palli Radhakrishnan, Governor Shri Thakur said there is need for ensuring due social respect and dignity to teachers. He said that the “Guru Shishya” tradition would inculcate the moral values.
The Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis said that efforts are afoot to elaborate reforms in education sector. She said that teachers role is vital in building a prosperous and sensitive society.
The Governor inaugurated the education portal service of the department. He also felicitated eight principals for their excellent research work. Earlier, the Governor and Education Minister garlanded the pictures of Dr. Radhakrishnan and Goddess Saraswati. The Governor also released a sourvenir of the department.
Principal Secretary Smt. Snehalata Shrivastava, Chairman, School Education Board, Shri Rakesh Bansal, Commissioner, School Education, Shri B.R. Naidu and Commissioner, Rajya Shiksha Kendra Shri Manoj Jhalani were present.
