Bhopal:Sunday, September 27, 2009:Updated 19:30IS The state government has warned of strict punitive action to the teachers who remained absent from their schools on September 5, The Teacher’s Day. Informing this the Minister for Education Smt. Archana Chitnis said that the state government has taken a serious view of the indecent (half naked) demonstration by the Adhyapaks in the presence o female teachers. The government has considered is indecent and unbecoming of a teacher. By doing this the Adhyapaks have brought a bad name to the state.
The Minister said that on the pious occasion of the Teacher’s Day when a grateful nation pays respects and honour to the teachers, the demonstration by a certain group of teachers belonging to Adhyapak cadre in an indecent manner is a cause of pain and concern,
The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has always been considerate to the Adhyapaks and the state government has extended them all the benefits of teacher cadre, which has never been done in history of Madhya Pradesh. Despite this, the demonstration like this is painful.

Smt. Chitins said that presence of the teachers in schools on all working days is compulsory. She said that the teachers are supposed to be in their classrooms and not on the streets.
