'Growth can't happen with empty stomach-Amartya Sen

The spread of swine flu in the country continues to take the top space on the front pages of the dailies today. The Sunday Times writes that the highly infectious H1N1 virus claimed the second life in the country.
It says 'most new cases are secondary infections'. The Statesman has a photo of a scene at a Delhi hospital showing people wearing masks and getting themselves tested.
The other major story in most front pages today is the PM's address at a conference with state chief secretaries. The Tribune's headline says 'Finally, drought reality sinks in. Situation grim but we're ready, says PM'. The paper also writes about Nobel laureate Amartya Sen telling a gathering that 'growth cant happen with empty stomach.
The top story in The Hindu is the ongoing India China talks, which says that the two countries have decided to set up a hotline between the Prime Ministers. It also writes that the decision was taken to hold the year of friendship with China in India.
The Asian Age and The Statesman carry a front page story on the death of Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud. The Asian Age says that the Pakistani authorities will match his DNA with samples already available to confirm his death, in the midst of infighting among two rival factions on who will succeed the killed leader. The papers say that it led to the death of Hakimullah Mehsud, one of the contenders.
The Pioneer has a front page story on the illegal entry of the Korean cargo ship in Indian waters. It quotes the navy chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta as saying that the Korean ship, MV Musen, had no business in Indian waters.
And finally, The Hindu has good news for bird lovers and bird watchers. The Great Indian Bustard has been sighted for the first time at the Tal Chhapar wild-life sanctuary of Rajasthan. The story has been headlined 'A surprise in the wilderness' and carries a photo of the majestic bird amidst the greens of the sanctuary.
