The Minister of State for Revenue and Labour (Independent charge) Shri Karan Singh Verma has informed that an amount of Rs. 12 crore 13 lakh has been provided to 240 urban civic bodies of 41 districts from April 1, 2009 for drinking water transportation in problem areas.
Shri Karan Singh Verma said that the State Government is making all possible efforts to make available drinking water to every citizen of the state. In this connection, Government is allocating funds to the Collectors as per the district’s requirement.
Out of the total allocated amount, a maximum sum of Rs. one crore 78 lakh has been allotted to Ujjain Collector for transportation of drinking water. Similarly, an amount of Rs. one crore 12 lakh five thousand has been allocated for drinking water transportation in nine civic bodies of Indore district, Rs. 91 lakh for 13 civic bodies of Dewas district, Rs. 85 lakh for ten civic bodies of Dhar, Rs. 74 lakh for three civic bodies of Bhopal, Rs. 58 lakh 25 thousand for six civic bodies of Sehore, Rs. 56 lakh for 13 civic bodies of Chhindwada district, Rs. 54 lakh 25 thousand for 12 civic bodies of Shajapur district and Rs. 55 lakh for civic bodies of Satna district.
The Collector, Rajgarh has been allocated an amount of Rs. 46 lakh five thousand for drinking water transportation in urban areas of the district, following Rs. 22 lakh to Badwani, Rs. six lakh to Jhabua. Rs. 11 lakh to Khargone, Rs. 32 lakh to Khandwa, Rs. nine lakh 25 thousand to Burhanpur, Rs. 29 lakh five thousand to Ratlam, Rs. 16 lakh 50 thousand to Mandsaur, Rs. 19 lakh to Neemuch, Rs. 13 lakh to Guna. Rs. 11 lakh to Datia, Rs. six lakh to Ashok Nagar, Rs. 13 lakh to Shahdol, Rs. nine lakh to Anuppur , Rs. four lakh 50 thousand to Sidhi, Rs. 26 lakh 50 thousand to Sagar, Rs. 17 lakh to Panna and Rs. eight lakh nine thousand to Chhatarpur Collector for drinking water transportation. Civic bodies of Tikamgarh districts have been provided with Rs. 18 lakh, Raisen Rs. 21 lakh, Betul Rs. 17 lakh, Hoshangabad Rs. eight lakh, Harda Rs. 12 lakh, Jabalpur Rs. 13 lakh, Katni Rs. 15 lakh, Narsinhpur Rs. four lakh, Seoni Rs. eight lakh, Mandla Rs. six lakh and Alirajpur Rs. nine lakh 75 thousand.
