Now, three instead of two daughters to get benefit,
Bhopal:Friday, July 24, 2009:Updated 22:00IST The Madhya Pradesh Labour Welfare Board has amended the norms for assistance for marriage of labourers' daughters. At present, benefits of this scheme are extended to only those girls who have passed class VIII exam. Under the scheme, Rs 5,000 each assistance is given for the marriage of daughters of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labourers who had attain 18 years of age. Today, the 52nd meeting of the Board decided that the benefit of this scheme will now be extended to three daughters instead of two.
The meeting was chaired by Madhya Pradesh Labour Welfare Board chairman Shri Mangilal Porwal. Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Shri Suresh Sharma, former minister Smt Alka Jain, Padmashri Shri Banwarilal Chauksey, Principal Secretary Labour Shri KP Singh and board members attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to change the name of Medhavi Chhatra Puruskar Yojaja meant for labourers' children to Shiksha Protsahan Puruskar Yojana. This will facilitate these children to avail of stipends easily.
The meeting also decided to impart training to labourers in various trades with a view to providing them employment. This will enable them to find jobs in various organisations. The meeting was informed that training of 128 trades like gardener and cook is imparted by Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Labour Department is considering to get labourers trained in these trades for providing employment to them.
It was also decided to honour best sponsors at the state level. Such institutions and establishments, which have been donating funds regularly and taking active part in welfare activities conducted by the Board, will be honoured with state level award. Besides, the number of Best Labourer awards has been increased from 10 to 15.

Anusuiya Mishra, comrade Vrishman (AITUC), president CITU Shri Ram Bilas Goswami, general secretary MP Electricity Employees Federation Shri Hemant Tiwari, senior journalist Shri Rambuwan Singh Kushwaha etc.
