Two thousand nurses to be recruited in 25 districts

Campaign to recruit nurses will be conducted between September 20 and 26
With a view to overcoming nurses' shortage, about two thousand nurses will be recruited in 25 districts of Madhya Pradesh. The state government has decided that in case adequate number of nurses is not available from government nursing training institutes, the women pass outs of non-government nursing schools and colleges will be appointed as staff nurses.
Giving this information, Minister of State for Public Health, Medical Education and AYUSH Shri Mahendra Hardia said that this process will be completed by the month of September.

Shri Hardia informed that the state government is striving to increase the strength of nurses along with doctors. He said that a campaign is being launched to recruit nurses in 25 districts at present.

Under the campaign, 32 nurses will be recruited in Jhabua, 70 in Burhanpur, 140 in Barwani, 122 in Khandwa, 140 in Khargone, 60 in Alirajpur, 80 in Neemuch, 75 in Panna, 73 in Tikamgarh, 119 in Damoh, 121 in Chhatarpur, 169 in Rajgarh, 41 in Harda, 28 in Betul, 14 in Balaghat, 89 in Rewa, 143 in Shahdol, 47 in Umaria, 52 in Anuppur, 78 in Singrauli, 78 in Sidhi, 63 in Sheopur, 28 in Shivpuri, 7 in Data and 63 nurses will be appointed in Ashok Nagar district.

The campaign to recruit nurses will be conducted between September 20 and 26. Counselling for filling up nurses' posts at the divisional level. The counselling for Jhabua, Burhanpur, Barwani, Khandwa, Khargone and Alirajpur will be done at Indore on September 20. Counselling for Neemuch district will be held at Ujjain on September 21. Sagar will be the centre of counselling for Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Damoh districts on September 22.

The counselling for Rajgarh, Harda and Betul districts will be held at Bhopal on September 23 and that of Balaghat district at Jabalpur on September 24 while the counselling for Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Sidhi and Singrauli will be done at Rewa. The counselling for Sheopur, Shivpuri, Datia and Ashok Nagar will be undertaken at Gwalior on September 26.

Priority will be given in the appointment of nurses to those women candidates who have passed general nursing training course and obtained BSc nursing degree from any recognised non-government institution. Applications from other states' candidates can be considered if adequate candidates are not available in the Madhya Pradesh. Candidates' age should be between 18 and 45 years. Five years' relaxation in age will be given to widows, divorced and abandoned women. The last day for submitting applications is August 26, 2010.
