Smt. Ranjana Baghel pays surprise visit to Directorate
Bhopal:Saturday, July 2, 2011:
Minister of State for Woman and Child Development (Independent charge) Smt. Ranjana Baghel paid a surprise visit to Woman and Child Development Directorate here today and held discussions with officers on departmental schemes and website. Director, Woman and Child Development Shri Anupam Rajan and Project Director of Atal Bal Arogya Poshan Missioin Dr. D.D. Agrawal was also present on the occasion.
Smt. Baghel undertook inspection of some sections of the directorate and departmental website. She instructed to download instructions posted from time to time on the departmental website and make available updated information about the department's schemes. Later, Smt. Baghel held talks with officers about departmental schemes and programmes at the directorate.
She also apprised herself of the replenishment of nutritious diet being provided at Anganwadi centres. Smt. Baghel said that poha and rice should also be included in the nutritious diet and served to the beneficiaries. She said that quality of nutritious diet being distributed at Anganwadi centres should be better. Officer should also visit remote villages and inspect Anganwadi centres with the objective of improving arrangements.
Smt. Ranjana Baghel also inspected the digital machine proposed to be used for weighing children and instructed to conduct tests to ascertain its utility, quality etc. Smt. Baghel remained at the Women and Child Development Directorate for about four hours and talked to officers on various issues. Directorate's other officers were also present on the occasion.
