Pratibimb announced Devendra of Ratlam Wins First Prize

 Photo competition reflected life of different tribals

The Tribal Welfare Department has announced the results of photo competition 'Pratibimb' organised by the department on the life of tribals. Senior photographer of Ratlam, Shri Devendra has won the first prize. He will be given prize money of Rs 31000 and a certificate at a function to be held later.

'Vanya' is an undertaking of Tribal Welfare Department. Managing Director of 'Vanya' Shri Shriram Tiwari while announcing the prizes said that Shri Kailash Mittal of Indore won the second prize while Shri Rajendra Malviya also of Indore won the third prize. The second and third prize winners would be given prize money of Rs 21000 and Rs 11000, respectively along with certificate.

55 photographers from all over the country sent a total of 157 entries for this national photo competition. The high power committee constituted for selection of entries for prizes found the photograph of Shri Devendra entitled 'Innocent Smile' as the best for first prize. Moreover, photographs of Shri Nitin Khatri (Indore), Shri Manit A Walmiki (Maharashtra), Shri Ramesh Soni (Dhar), and Shri Jagdish Malviya (Ratlam) have been selected for consolation prizes. They will get prize money of Rs 2500 each and certificate.

The national photo competition reflected life of different tribals, their culture and traditions. Any photographer who is expert in this field can participate in this competition and send photos pertaining to life and culture of tribal life. Best entry is selected by a panel of judges.

Shri Shriram Tiwari informed that this photo competition is organised every year under the banner of children's magazine of 'Vanya', 'Samajh-Jharokha'. The purpose of the competition is to spread awareness of tribal life among other sections of the society through photographs.
