Merely ten districts having normal rainfall

The Minister of State for Revenue and Labour (Independent Charge) Shri Karan Singh Verma has informed that only ten districts of the State have registered normal rainfall during the current monsoon season. These district include Seoni, Chhindwada, Bhopal, Betul, Hoshangabad, Harda, Mandsour, Indore and Dhar. Shri Verma said that 34 district are facing deficient rainfall, while six districts namely Katni, Panna, Damoh, Bhind, Morena and Sheopur Kalan are having scanty rainfall.Shri Karan Singh Verma said that this year the onset of monsoon was delayed and a long spell of dry days occurred from July 26 to Aug 08, 2009। Due to these circumstances, 37 districts where the rainfall deficit is more than 25 percent of average alongwith long spell of dry days have been seriously affected. Therefore the State Government has declared these 37 districts as drought affected।
These districts are, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindori, Jabalpur, Katni, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Sagar, Panna, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Raisen, Vidisha, Damoh, Sehore, Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur kalan, Shajapur, Dewas, Ratlam, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Badwani, Jhabua and Alirajpur.

Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrouli, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindori, Jabalpur, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Raisen, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Sehore, Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Ujjain, Neemuch, Shajapur, Dewas, Ratlam, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Badwani, Jhabua, Alirajpur.

Districts having Scanty Rainfall(-60%and above)

Katni, Panna, Damoh, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur- Kalan
