Right to Education Act, mean free and mandatory education to children.

 Chitnis called for making education interesting and attractive
School Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis has said that apart from the state government, the role of teachers and parents will also be very important in the implementation of Right to Education Act, which envisages free and mandatory education to children. 

The contribution of Panchayats as well as Urban Administration and Development will also be quite important in this regard. Smt. Chitnis was addressing a state level workshop on this subject at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration here today. 
Those present on the occasion included National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Justice Sheila Khanna, Principal Secretary School Education Smt. Snehlata Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare Shri Devraj Virdi, Commissioner Public Instructions Shri BR Naidu, Commissioner Tribal Welfare Shri Sanjay Bandopadhyaya, educationists from the state as well as country, representatives of educational institutions, NGOs and officials of School Education Department.

Smt. Archana Chitnis called for making education interesting and attractive. She said that education should be based on moral principals and ethics so that students can become responsible citizens in future. She said Madhya Pradesh can become a precedent by successfully implementing the Act.

Addressing the workshop, Justice Sheila Khanna urged the educationists and teachers to contribute in the Act’s proper implementation. She said that there are initial hiccups in the implementation of new laws but they can be overcome through dedication and devotion.

Throwing light on various aspects of Act, Smt. Snehlata Shrivastava said that rules about its implementation will be formulated while keeping educationists’ recommendations in mind. She singled out resources and local requirements as the biggest needs of the Act’s successful implementation. UNICEF Madhya Pradesh chief Dr. Tanya Goldnar also addressed the workshop.

Earlier, Smt. Archana Chitnis inaugurated the workshop by lighting a lamp. Smt. Snehlata Shrivastava, Additional Mission Director Rajya Shiksha Kendra Shri Chandrahas Dubey and others welcomed the guests.
