Banks have vital role to ensure equality : Shri Nagendra Singh

Reserve Bank resolves to make Kachloha as model village
Bhopal:Wednesday, October 21, 2009:Updated 18:09IST Kachloha village in Nagod tehsil of Satna district in Madhya Pradesh is among the 160 villages which will be adopted by the Reserve Bank of India to turn them into model villages. This announcement was made on Tuesday at a programme at Kachloha village by Reserve Bank of India.
Public Works Minister Shri Nagendra Singh was the chief guest of the function. Those present on the occasion included Reserve Bank of India's Executive Director Shri B.K. Sharma, Regional Director Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Shri Rajesh Verma and senior officers of the bank and administration.
Addressing the function, Public Works Minister Shri Singh said that the state government is striving to turn Madhya Pradesh into a golden state through infrastructure development, welfare schemes and efficient fiscal planning. Banks have vital role to play in government's efforts to ensure equality for the last man in the last row.
Public Works Minister Shri Singh said that increase in banks' infrastructure is necessary with a view to enhancing banking facilities in the remote rural areas. He praised RBI for adopting Kachloha for its all round development on the occasion of the bank's Platinum Jubilee.
Reserve Bank of India's Executive Director Shri B.K. Sharma informed that RBI is striving to improving the standard of living of citizens of the country with the help of the Union and state governments. He said that as per the decision of RBI Governor, the bank will select 160 villages in the county as model villages which will be financially empowered by March 2010.
