Bhopal:Thursday, August 20, 2009:Updated 16:18IST A two-day symposium is going to be organized on August 22-23 as part of Manik Chandra Vajpaiyee National Journalism Award ceremony. Eminent scholars would discuss burning topics at the symposium to be held at Bharat Bhawan.The topic of the opening session on August 22 will be “ Interrelation Between World Civilizations”. The Minister for Culture and Public Relations Shri Laxmikant Sharma will preside over the session. Noted scholar Shri Shridhar Paradkar would the chief guest. Prof. Kusumlata Kedia would introduce the subject. Shri Ram Madhav would be the main speaker at the session, which will be from 10 am to 12 noons. Shri Ambarish Mishra would moderate the session.
The topic of the second session is “ Challenges of Global Terrorism: Role of India”. Shri Devendra Swaroop will preside over the session. Smt. Anuradha Shankar will give the keynote address. Dr. Pavan Sinha and Dr. Shankar Sharan will address the symposium. Shri Sanjay Dwivedi would moderate the session, which would be held from 2 pm to 4 pm.
On the second day on August 23, the topic of the first session is “ Intellectual Past and Future of Independent Indian Nation”. Shri Mahesh Chandra Sharma will preside over it. Dr. Madhukar Shyam Chaturvedi would deliver the keynote address. Prof. Rameshwar Mishra Pankaj, Shri Achyutanand Mishra and Shri Shashishekhar Sharma would express their views at this session. Sushri Anupama Chouhan would moderate the discussion. The session will be from 10 am to 12 noons.
The topic of second session would be “ Future India: Role of Media”. Shri Mahesh Shrivastava would preside. Smt. Smriti Irani would be chief guest. Shri Tarun Vijay would deliver the keynote address. Shri Prabhat Jha, Shri Shravan Garg and Shri Prabhu Joshi would be speakers. Shri Sharad Dwivedi would moderate the session.
