Land reserved for film city near Bhopal

One-day industry interactive session concludes in Mumbai
Mumbai:Thursday, August 27, 2009:Updated 20:15IST The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that land measuring 430 acres has been earmarked for establishment of a Film City near the state capital, Bhopal. The state government is also mulling over opening an Acting Training Institute in Madhya Pradesh.
In addition to this, adequate facilities would be provided to film makers with an objective to highlighting the natural beauty, archaeological grandeur and to promoting tourism development in Madhya Pradesh. Further, an exemption of 50 percent in entertainment tax would be granted in case of films to be shot in the state.
Spelling out about the state government’s plans, the Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan made these announcements while addressing the film producers, directors and artists associated with the film industry at an “Industry Interactive Session and Entertainment Industry Park” here today. Prominent film personalities were also present on the occasion.
Noted film director Shri Prakash Jha said that his experience in film production in Madhya Pradesh has been quite satisfactory. Actor Shri Mukesh Tiwari, director Shri Sudhir Mishra and Shri Raza Murad also supported the views of Shri Prakash Jha. Other prominent film artists and directors including Shri Nitish Bhradwaj, Shri Roomi Jafari, Shri Ramesh Tekwani, Shri T. Manwani Anand, Shri Rajendra Ojha, Shri KIran V. Shantaram, Shri Siddhartha Kashyap, Sushri Madura Jasraj, Sushri Pushpta Vijula, Shri Vinod Tiwari, Shri Manmohan Shetty, Shri Jagmohan Mundra, Shri Hitendra Jain, Shri Bonie Kapoor, Shri Shankar Dutta and Shri Mahesh Rangnathan expressed happiness over the special initiative of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to boost film production in Madhya Pradesh and put forth their valuable suggestions in this regard.
The Madhya Pradesh Minister for Culture and Public Relations, Shri Laxmikant Sharma expressed gratitude towards the guests. The Industry Minister, Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Principal Secretary Shri Satyaprakash; Director, Culture, Shri Sriram Tiwari were also present on the occasion. Managing Director, TRIFAC, Shri Praveen Garg delivered the welcome address. Shri Achal Mehra gave a video presentation on film city construction project. A film focused on specialties of Madhya Pradesh was also screened on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh tourism.
