Cardiac science centre at Bhopal to be upgraded
Bhopal:Saturday, August 29, 2009:Updated 17:30IST The cabinet at its meeting chaired by the Chief Minster Shri Shivraj Singh here today tool several important decisions including setting up of a 1000-bed hospital at Gwalior, upgrading of the cardiac science centre at Gandhi Medical college, Bhopal and establishment of a gastroentology department there.
The cabinet accorded sanction for construction of a 1000-bed hospital at Gwalior. The work would be completed in for phases.
The A block would be taken up in the first phase and the B block in the second phase on which an expenditure of RS. 15.64 is estimated. The cabinet sanctioned entire amount of Rs. 116.44 crrore for constructin of the hospital.
A total amount of Rs. 20 crore would be incurred in 2009-20, Rs. 30 crore in 2011-12 and Rs. 31.80 crore in 2112-13. it may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced to constructed a 1000-bed hospital during his visit to Gwalior in June 15 2005.
The cabinet endorsed the proposal to upgrade the cardiac science centre at Gandhi medical Colleege.Bhopal. A sum of Rs. 369.67 crore would be spent on this. Of this, Rs. 283.90 will be spent on equipments, Rs. 65.77 lakh on other works and Rs. 20 lakh on daily use material. The idea being upgrading the centre is to ensure that people of entire state benefit from it.
The cabinet also decided to set up a gastroentelogy in Gandhi Medical College. A total of 13 posts were sanctioned for this purpose.
The cabinet decided to appoint to create 180 posts of Ayurvedic physicians, 400 of Ayush doctors and 40 posts of Unani doctor. The process of appointing them on contract basis would be done by VYAPAM.
The cabinet decided to lower the rate of tax on opium. It was decided that in case central government grants sanction to double the area under opium the sale rate of the same would be reduced to 12.50 percent.
The cabinet also decided to provide time scale to the members of the finance service in the sate.
