Bhopal:Friday, July 24, 2009:Updated 16:00IST At least one member of each family displaced due to Mahan Aluminium Project in Singrauli will be provided employment in the project according to Madhya Pradesh government's Model Rehabilitation Policy 2002. An MoU to this effect has been signed between Mahan Aluminium Project Hindalco Industries Limited and collector and District Rehabilitation Officer.According to Singrauli collector Shri P Narhari, landless oustees will be provided jobs of unskilled workers. The oustees have been asked to get their names registered with project representatives.
Sarpanchas of concerning Gram Panchayats will also extend help in this connection. Efforts will be undertaken by project's officers to provide source of long-term livelihood in any form to every displaced family.
Such livelihoods will be provided by either accommodating them in the project, in the form of members of labour committees or allotting them shops in project township/rehabilitation colony of oustees.
If the project officer does not provide any kind of employment to a family within three years after land acquisition award, then arrangements will be ensured by the district administration to give them unemployment allowance or any other assistance.
Labour Contract Committees will be constituted comprising displaced persons as members. Members of these committees will be given priority in construction and other works. The project will also extend help in the constitution of self-employment committees and groups. The committees will be registered by District Labour Office.
All the unskilled works of the project will be assigned to these committee. A tripartite agreement will be signed among the district administration, the company and the committee to ensure assignment of works of the project.
One member of each family will also be imparted industrial training as per his or her ability. For this purpose a list of young males and females will be prepared as per their qualification in every village.
They will be sent for training from time to time after which efforts will be made to provide employment to them. During the training period, each trainee will be given Rs one thousand each on the basis on his progress and attendance.
Arrangements will be made to extend bank loans to those who wish to start self-employment. It will be ensured that every displaced family gets source of livelihood in one form or other.
