Chief Minister releases book "Hamara Gwalior"
Gwalior:Saturday, July 25, 2009:Updated 20:50IST Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Gwalior has been cultural capital and boasts of a glorious history. He said that we should preserve this glorious history and pass it on to the next generation. He expressed these views while releasing a book titled 'Hamara Gwalior' at Chamber of Commerce here today.Those present on the occasion included MPs Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Shri Prabhat Jha, Gwalior Mayor Shri Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar and other people's representatives, collector Shri Akash Tripathi, superintendent of police Shri A Sai Manohar, Prof. Mohan Kumar Mathur of Bharat Vikas Parishad, president of Chamber of Commerce Shri GD Ladda and distinguished citizens.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Gwalior is identified by its culture, traditions and values of life apart from rich music and art traditions and archaeological wealth. It is with this in mind that the state government has established a music university here. He said this a land of music maestros, saints and revolutionaries.
Shri Chouhan said that history is not a matter of mere study; it also inspires us. He said we should go through such history books as 'Hamara Gwalior'. The Chief Minister thanked the author Dr. Ajay Agnihotri for covering all the aspects of Gwalior region in this book.
MP Shri Prabhat Jha said this book also inspires government employees to move forward in positive direction since the author is also a government employee. At the outset, Dr. Agnihotri's teacher Prof. Mohan Kumar Mathur introduced him. Shri Mathur also honoured the Chief Minister by presenting a shawl and shriphal to him.
