Exercise begins to improve school results

Education Minister reviews preparations for new session of training
Bhopal:Saturday, July 25, 2009:Updated 20:00IST Keeping in mind results of this year's high school and higher secondary exams, the exercise to improve results has been intensified. A meeting chaired by School Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis here today decided to impart state level training to teachers/lecturers of class IX to XII. The meeting was held at the Mantralaya. Prior to this training, subject teachers and state level source teachers will also be imparted training in August. Commissioner Tribal Development Shri Jaideep Singh Govind and Commissioner Public Relations Shri BR Naidu were also present at the meeting.
Smt. Archana Chitnis told the meeting the benefit of this large scale training programme will also be extended to the teachers of schools being conducted by Tribal Welfare Department. She called for alternative arrangements in schools for teachers who will take part in the training programme.
Help of NGOs and experienced people of private schools will be taken in training state level source teachers. She said that after analysing results of Board Exams 2008, the need to train teachers of mathematics, English, Science and Sanskrit of class X and English, Chemistry, Physics and mathematics of class XII was felt.
Smt. Archana Chitnis said that 3000 and 1000 teachers of 2984 high schools and 1731 higher secondary schools respectively will be imparted training. Later, these trained teachers will impart training to state level source teachers from August 24 to 28. They will also impart state level training to teachers at Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur. Venue of training will be selected by the institution responsible to prepare the module.
